Welcome to the Digital Media blog!
We have gotten a lot done over the past month! Digital Media students are currently finishing up Flash animations and other projects to submit to the Utah Multimedia Arts Festival (UMAF).
Students have spent the last month learning the animation and interactivity tool Adobe Flash CS5 and preparing 1-minute animations on the topic of their choice. They have created pre-visualizations of characters, written scripts, and learned the process of digital animation.
Three animations from our school will be chosen to compete at the Arts Festival. Clearfield High students are perennial winners in the 2D animation category. Last year, Lane Bingham won 1st place for his animation, No Superheroes. Chase McClure won Best in Show in 2009 for Loss.
Your Digital Media student has the option of attending the Festival at Utah Valley University on May 3rd. At last years festival, we attended breakout sessions from local video game studio Disney Interactive and media education studio Spyhop. This year students have an opportunity to take Adobe certification tests for free! I hope your student will be able to join us!
